Artistic Statement

My research-based practice includes paintings, textile sculptures, performances, writings and video collages. My works are a combination of autonomous and socially-oriented projects - the latter often generated from a very personal story that I feel called upon to address in my work, that unravels to reveal larger social-political issues behind it. I like to understand and address art not only as of the stand-alone aesthetic result of individual expression, but as a process that is generated within personal circumstances and informed by social-political context.
